January 29, 1995, One minute and 24 seconds into the first quarter of Super Bowl XXIX, Jerry Rice crossed the goal line with a 44-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Steve Young, capping the fastest opening touchdown in Super Bowl history.

Rice required just two quarters on October 29, 1995 against the New Orleans Saints to surpass the 73 yards receiving he needed to move past the 14,004 receiving yards amassed by James Lofton from 1978 to 1993. Rice had eight catches for 108 yards, giving him 14,040 career yards in 10 1/2 seasons.

Jerry Rice catches one of his 12 passes of the day during the game against the Atlanta Falcons in Atlanta Sunday December 24 1995. These catches pushed him past Art Monk and made him the NFL's all-time receiving leader with 942 (including a team record 122 this year), and his yardage gave him a one-season NFL record of 1,848.

1000th RECEPTION!!!
As usual, Jerry Rice did exactly what was needed to win the game. He also got exactly what he needed to become the first player with 1,000 career receptions Sunday night, November 3, 1996, in New Orleans.
