1985 (Rookie Year)
Established a team record for rookies with 927 receiving yards,finishing second on the team that season to RB Roger Craig (1,014). First career TD came on a 25-yard pass from Joe Montana at Atlanta (10-6). Started four games during rookie season.

1986 (2nd Year)
NFL leader and set team records, with 1,570 receiving yards (No. 3 on NFL all-time list) and 15 receiving TDs. NFC leader with 86 receptions. His three TDs vs.both the Colts (10-5) and the Cardinals (11-9) tied the team record at that time for TD receptions in a game. Tied a team record with 12 catches (204 yards) at Washington (11-17).

1987 (3rd Year)
Named NFL Most Valuable Player, the first 49er to receive that honor since QB John Brodie in 1970. NFL leader (first WR since Elroy "Crazylegs" Hirsch in 1951) and set a team single-season record with 138 points that point total being the most ever scored by a wide-out,and most points scored by a non-kicker since Redskins' RB John Riggins chalked up 144 points on an NFL-record 24 TDs in 1983. NFL record 22 receiving TDs, shattering the previous mark of 18 set by Mark Clayton in 1984. Established another NFL record by scoring on a pass receptionin 13 consecutive games to end the regular season. Scored the winning points on a 25-yard TD catch with no time remaining at Cincinnati (9-20). Tied the team record three times with three TD receptions vs. Tampa Bay (11-22), Cleveland (11-29), and Chicago (12-14).Team leader with 1,078 receiving yards.

1988 (4th Year)
Team leader with 1,306 reception yards. His NFL record of 13 consecutive games with a TD ended at New Orleans (9-4). Made a 78-yard TD catch with :42 remaining at N.Y. Giants(9-11) to provide the margin for victory. Tied the team record for the sixth time with three-receiving TDs at Seattle (9-25). Established a then-team record with a 96-yard TD reception at San Diego (11-27). Tied the NFL postseason record with three receiving TDs in the NFC Divisional Playoff Game vs. Minnesota (1-1-89). Had two more receiving TDs in the NFC Championship Game at Chicago (1-8-89). Named Super Bowl XXIII MVP,following a SuperBowl record 215 yards on 11 receptions vs. Cincinnati (1-22-89). His six postseason TDs tied an NFL record (Larry Csonka - '73, Franco Harris - '74, and John Riggins - '83)for most single season playoff scores.

1989 (5th Year)
Unanimous selection to the Pro Football Hall of Fame's NFL "Team of the 1980s'... NFL leader with 1,483 receiving yards. league leader among wide receivers with 17 TD catches. Team leader with 82 receptions and 17 scores. Scored the winning TD on a 58-yard catch-and-run late in the fourth quarter at Indianapolis (9-10). Set team career records for total TDs (64) and receiving TDs (60) with a pair of scores vs. New Orleans (11-6). Added to the team record with an eighth game of more than 100 receiving yards vs. Chicago(12-24). Scored on 72 and 13-yard catches in the NFC Divisional Playoff Game vs. Minnesota(1-6-90). Set a Super Bowl record with three receiving scores vs. Denver in Super Bowl XXIV(1-28-90).

1990 (6th Year)
NFL leader in receptions (100) and yardage (1,502). Caught a career-high 105 passes to become only the fourth player in NFL history to catch at least 100 passes in a season (Art Monk,Washington - 106 in 1984; Charley Hennigan, Houston - 101 in '64; and Lionel Taylor, Denver -100 in '60). Named NFC Co-Offensive Player of the Week along with Joe Montana when he posted one of the greatest receiving games in NFL history at Atlanta(10-14). Tied an NFL record with five TD receptions and established team records for receptions (13) and points (30), while ringing up 225 yards. His yardage total in that game established him as the 49ers' career record holder with 6,938 yards, surpassing Dwight Clark's 6,750. Caught eight passes for 101 yards,including three receptions for 40 yards on team's game-winning overtime drive at Cincinnati (12-9)... Tied John Stallworth's NFL postseason record for most career TD receptions (12) vs. Washington in the NFC Divisional Playoff Game (1-12-91).

1991 (7th Year)
Team leader in catches (80), receiving yards (1,206) and TDs (14). Scored a 73-yard TD on his lone reception at N.Y. Giants (9-2). Became the 16th player in NFL history to surpass 8,000 yards receiving (8,089), had two TD receptions and had his only rush(two yards) of the season vs. San Diego (9-8). Hauled in a pair of TD receptions for the second consecutive week at Minnesota (9-15). Tied Lance Alworth (85) for fourth on the all-time career TD reception list with a 62-yarder vs. L.A. Rams (9-22), and moved alone into fourth place on that list (86) vs. Atlanta(10-13). His game-winning TD reception vs. New Orleans (12-1) tied Don Maynard (88) for third place on the all-time NFL TD receiving list and Roger Craig (508) for first on the all-time 49ers reception chart. Moved into third place on the all-time NFL TD reception list (89) and became the 49ers' career record holder for most receptions (514) at Seattle (12-8),also reaching the 1,000-yard receiving mark against the Seahawks. Had a pair of TD receptions vs. Kansas City(12-14) and vs. Chicago (12-23) to increase his career total to 93 and extended his streak of at least one reception to 95 consecutive games.

1992 (8th Year)
Rice became the NFL's career record holder for receiving touchdowns with 101, surpassing Steve Largent's mark of 100. Selected as a starter to the 1993 Pro Bowl. Team leader in receiving yards (1,201), receptions (84) and touchdowns. Posted a team-high 73 yards receiving and caught his first touchdown pass of the season at N.Y. Jets (9-20). Became the eighth player in NFL history to catch at least one pass in 100 consecutive games vs. L.A. Rams(10-4). Named NFC Offensive Player of the Week when he scored three touchdowns (2 receiving, 1 rushing) to become the eighth player in NFL history to reach 100 career scores (102, 6th all-time) vs. Atlanta (10-18)... Reached the 10,000 total yards mark (10,001) for his career and scored his 98th NFL receiving touchdown at Atlanta (11-9). Had a season-high eight receptions and tied Dwight Clark's team record 105 consecutive games with at least one reception vs. New Orleans(11-15). Broke that record the following week with his 106th consecutive game with a catch and tied Don Hutson for second place on the all-time NFL touchdown reception list (99) at L.A. Rams(11-22). Named NFC Offensive Player of the Week as he tied Steve Largent for first place on the all-time NFL touchdown reception list with his 100th career TD catch and tied Hutson(105) for fifth place on the all-time NFL touchdown list vs. Philadelphia (11-29). 1993 (9th Year)
Rice posted one of the best seasons of his illustrious career en route to being named NFL Offensive Player of the Year by the Associated Press. Selected as a starter to the 1994 Pro Bowl, marking his seventh appearance in Hawaii. NFL leader in receiving yards(1,503) and touchdowns(16). Team leader in receptions (98) and receiving yards (1,503), both totals being the second-best marks of his career. Finished the season with a reception ina Team record 127 consecutive games and tied with Harold Carmichael for fourth place on the NFL's all-time list. Named the winner of the 49ers' Len Eshmont Award as the most inspirationaland courageous player in a vote by teammates. Had a pair of touchdown catches in the season-opener at Pittsburgh (9-5). Had 82 receiving yards to move past Harold Jackson(10,372) into seventh place on the NFL's all-time receiving yardage list (10,433) at Cleveland (9-13). Moved into third place on the NFL's all-time touchdown list (118),surpassing John Riggins (116), with four TD receptions at Tampa Bay (11-14),while gaining a season-high 172 receiving yards vs. the Bucs to become the sixth player in NFL history to reach 11,000 receiving yards (11,093). Established himself as the 49ers' team record holder with 11,564 yards from scrimmage, surpassing Roger Craig (11,506) with his 62yards on four catches vs. New Orleans (11-22) and established a Monday Night Football record in that game with a pair of touchdown receptions, giving him 18 career scores on Monday night, eclipsing Marcus Allen's mark of 16. Surpassed 1,000 receiving yards for the season (1,048) with eight catches for 166 yards at L.A. Rams (11-28), tying Steve Largent's NFL record for most 1,000-yard receiving seasons in a career (8) and establishing an NFL record by accomplishing those 1,000-yard campaigns in consecutive years, breaking the old mark of seven that he previously shared with Lance Alworth. Averaged 20.5 yards on four catches vs. Cincinnati (12-5)... Totaled 105 yards receiving on six catches at Atlanta (12-11) to tie James Lofton for second place on the NFL's all-time chart with 43 games with 100 or more yards receiving. Accumulated 132 receiving yards,including an 80-yard touchdown reception, at Detroit (12-19) to move past James Lofton (43) and alone into second place (44) on the NFL's all-time list for most games with 100 or more yards receiving in a career. 1994 (10th Year)
Rice Turned in one of the best seasons of his illustrious career. Named as a Pro Bowl starter for the ninth consecutive year. Set a team single-season record with 112 receptions. The No. 2 season total in NFL history. Totaled 1,499 receiving yards to set an NFL record with nine consecutive 1,000-yard campaigns. Posted five 100-yard receiving gamesduring the campaign,running his career total to 49, the No. 2 total in NFL history. Had 13 receiving TDs and added two more TDs on rushing plays, bringing his season total to 15 scores. Those TDs allowed him to set the NFL career-record for touchdowns with 139. Claimed that record in the season-opener vs. L.A. Rams (9-5) when he was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week with a performance that included seven receptions for a season-high 169 yards with two TDs,while also rushing once for a score. Tied Walter Payton as the No. 2 scorer in NFL history with 125TDs on a 69-yard reception from Steve Young in the first quarter. Tied Jim Brown's careermark of 126 TDs on a 38-yard score on a reverse in the third period. Became the NFL career record holder with his 127th TD on a 38-yard reception from Young in the fourth quarter. Caught five passes for 78 yards at Kansas City (9-11). Posted 11 catches for 147 yards and a TD at L.A. Rams(9-18). Had TD receptions of 28 and six yards as part ot his five-catch, 63 receiving yards performance vs. New Orleans (9-25). Caught six balls for 66 yards vs. Philadelphia (10-2).Posted six grabs for 65yards with a 32-yard TD at Atlanta (10-16). Totaled 90 yards on three receptions and ran 28yards for a TD on a reverse at Washington (11-6). Had a 57-yard TD reception among his five catches for 93 yards vs. Dallas (11-13). Named NFC Offensive Player ofthe Week for the second time as he set a team single-game record and tied for the No. 3 performance in NFL history with 16 receptions totaling 165 yards with three TDs (seven, six and 18yards) vs. L.A. Rams(11-20). Caught seven passes for 80 yards and caught a two-point conversion pass at New Orleans (11-28). Scored on a nine-yard TD play among his seven catchesfor 92 yards vs.Atlanta (1 2-4). Caught 12 passes for 144 yards at San Diego (12-11).Nine catches for 121yards with a 23-yard score vs. Denver (12-17). Had four catches for 33yards and a TD in limitedaction at Minnesota (12-26). POSTSEASON: Caught four passes totaling 48yards vs. Chicago in the NFC Divisional Playoff (1-7). Scored on a 28-yard reception as part of a two-catch,36-yard day vs. Dallas in the NFC Championship (1-15). Turned in another memorable SuperBowl performance vs. San Diego (1-29) with 10 receptions for 149 yards and three TDs, including a 51-yard scoring strike on the game's third play from scrimmage. Left the game late in the first quarter with a separated shoulder and missed three 49ers' possessions beforereturning to action in the second quarter.
